What comes first?
Posted in Christ, church, truth with tags Bible, Christian, church, grace, Jesus, shame on May 15, 2008 by lazydonkeydaySome comments from below got me to thinking. Is shame always a bad thing? Doesn’t shame lead one to hope for and accept grace. It was stated that shame is man made and conviction is from the Holy spirit. Does shame come first and then conviction. Anyone have some answers?
who ya texting?
Posted in Christ, church, Connecting, Friends with tags care, cell phone, Christian, Friends, Jesus, text on May 7, 2008 by lazydonkeydayIt has been said that if you look in your checkbook to see who you have written checks to it will show where your focus is. How about your text messages. Does that show where your focus is? I would suppose since you can’t text Jesus most your texts should be to those you care the most deeply about?

Can the phrase “Spank the Donkey” bring 15 million Christians back to church?
Dave Simonsen and Dave Vahey, members of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship in Olympia, hope it will.
About six months ago, the two men launched a campaign that promotes this Sunday as “National Go to Church Day.”
“One day, we were sitting around talking about all of the people who don’t go to church who say they’re Christian,” said Simonsen, 37, of Lacey. “And we thought, ‘What’s the reason that those people don’t go?’ For the most part, the people we know that no longer go just want to sleep in on Sunday.”
Read the rest here.
We’re really surprised that Olympia would run this….crazy.

Divorce hurts all around
Posted in Bible, church, Connecting, Friends, Go To Church Day, truth with tags Bible, Christian, church, divorce, marriage, money on April 25, 2008 by lazydonkeydayRecently there was a study showing the financial costs of divorce. It was touted by some people as a great reason to not divorce. While the report is interesting I think it misses the mark. The real cost of divorce is the toll it takes on relationships. We all know that family relationships get damaged, but there are others that get hurt in the process as well, mutual friends, church friends, the Church itself. It not only isn’t worth it financially, it isn’t worth it relationally. Work out your issues.

The Venus razor
Posted in Go To Church Day, Uncategorized with tags Christian, confession, husband, secret, shaving, wife on April 21, 2008 by lazydonkeydayAfter looking through my whole house I couldn’t find a razor to shave with. Well, I couldn’t find a MANLY razor. So I looked around to make sure no one was watching and used my wife’s Venus razor. I felt very unmanly, I mean i need to be using a TURBO Mach ultimate smooth action 4 bladed razor, but all I could find was a little pastel colored Venus razor with aloe…. I felt my manliness draining down the sink with the shaving cream. My face does feel remarkably silky and smooth. If I can admit that I used a woman’s razor, surely you can admit to…….??
