What the Frick Pt.2

Can you love Jesus and cuss? I grew up thinking you couldn’t. I have to admit once in a while I cuss only because the reaction I get is funny. I have found that more and more people around me, Jesus lovers, seem to cuss. I am confused why they do it. Are they trying to prove something? Is this their way to show that they have freedom in Christ to do that? If it is then why do they lower their voice when they get to the cuss word itself, why not say it loud and proud? Can I get a little help please?

  1. Yes, you can love Jesus and cuss.

What else can you do while loving Jesus? Just seems like the whole let no unwholsome talk thing prevents cussing. I am always willing to be proven wrong!

  3. Well, do you ever speed? Is it self-righteousness that prevents you from swearing or a desire to see Christ redeem your soul.

  4. lazydonkeyday Says:

Ok nice Jacob, so am I loving Jesus when I speed. Paul address that I shouldn’t sin to get grace so I shouldn’t cuss so Christ can redeem my soul right. So if we are sinning then we aren’t loving Jesus right? WOW…get confusing or maybe I am over analyzing.

  5. is cussing sinning?

  6. lazydonkeyday Says:

Tam, that’s what I am trying to get an idea of. Is speeding sinning? Yes, so am I loving Jesus while I am sinning (speeding)?

  7. sometimes i swear to let people know that Jesus loves the sh*t out of them.

C’mon Jacob now you are just being silly. You had some good thoughts previously.

  9. this is a tough one for me. Anything that opposes God is against Him. Anything. To me, if I drop something on my toe and say damn it – is that a sin? I’m not sold. It’s a word used in this example as an expression. I think much worse is driving around, getting angry and calling other drivers Idiots. It’s more of a heart matter and the intent behind it. A word is just a word until your heart defiles it – and a heart can defile anything.

My husband enjoys a beer now and then. Never been drunk a day in his life. However, he would never drink in front of, or on the company of, some of our friends who struggle with alcohol.

There’s a balance to all we do. But it all starts with the intent behind it.

    IMHO
